Acer Shirasawanum Aureum
Also known as the Golden Full Moon Japanese maple tree, is a stunning deciduous tree with a broad, spreading habit and bold, golden-yellow foliage that holds its color well throughout the growing season. Deeply cut, 7-9 lobed leaves are colored yellow in spring, then turn pale chartreuse followed by shades of orange & red in fall. Slow-growing shrub that is exceptional for its yellow foliage, and tiny crimson flowers are visible at near inspection in spring.
‘Aureum’ typically grows to a height of 15-20 feet & spread of 15-20 feet at maturity. It prefers a partially shaded location with moist, well-drained soil. The low-maintenance tree requires minimal pruning and attention. Perfect as a specimen plant in cottage gardens, and city gardens.
