Also known as the Fernleaf Fullmoon Maple, is a deciduous tree that is native to Japan. Typically grows to a height of 8-10 feet and has a rounded, spreading growth habit. Resembling a full moon with its rounded leaf named after the tree. The leaves turn a beautiful shade of red-orange in the fall, providing a striking autumn display. The tree also produces small purplish-red flowers in the early spring, followed by winged fruit ripening in late summer to early fall. Prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained soil (not too dry), and is relatively low-maintenance. With its unique foliage and eye-catching fall color, it is grown primarily as a specimen or in small groups around the garden or landscape.
