Acer Dissectum Emerald Lace, also known as Laceleaf Japanese maple tree or Acer palmatum var. dissectum ‘Emerald Lace’. It is a graceful deciduous tree with a cascading, weeping habit and delicate, lacy foliage. The tree is shaded with an emerald green color in spring, transforms into a rich green in summer, and changes from yellow-orange to a bright burgundy-red in the fall.
Semi-upright Japanese maple is a vigorous grower with long, pendulous branches. To form a well-branched framework, prune the tree in late winter or early spring. ‘Emerald Lace’ typically grows to a height of 10-13 feet and wide of 10 – 13 feet creating a beautiful canopy. It prefers a partially shaded location with moist, well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. Perfect as a specimen plant in cottage gardens, city gardens, Japanese gardens, and container planting.
