Commonly known as Osakazuki Japanese maple tree, is a stunning deciduous tree with a broad, upright habit and bold, deep red foliage that holds its color well throughout the growing season. Deeply cut large leaves with 7 lobes turn bright green in spring and summer, then transform to brilliant orange-scarlet & crimson-red in fall. This tree got a unique captivated look by winter with bare outlines of bark & twigs as the leaves fall from it.

‘Osakazuki’ typically grows to a height of 15-25 feet and spreads outwards of 10 – 15 feet. It prefers full sun or partially shaded location. Grows best in moist, well-drained acidic soil. Yet can adapt to clay and sandy soils. Also can tolerant drought & wind.  It’s perfect for growing as a focal point in the garden or in a mixed shrub border.
